So, who am I and what is Starz? Well since I was a little girl I have always wanted to ‘play shops’. My aunty ran a market stall in London and I used to go and help her in the holidays and loved it. So that is where I think it first started. It then got put to the back of my mind whilst growing up and adulting and ended up in a Corporate role, 5 days a week.

As a kid I was always overweight and told I had puppy fat, and sadly I hated sports so never really got fit. I was picked on all the time for being fat by so called friends, and in the end, you just start to believe them and accept that you are fat. Looking back, I really wasn’t that fat, but it got so bad I refused to eat in front of people in case they said ‘ well that’s why you’re fat’. Kids have no idea how what they say stays with you! Anyway, this isn’t a pity post, but just trying to fill you in on me.

Wasn’t until lockdown from Covid that I started to really think about what I wanted out of life, as life is short and we only live once #WOLO. I already ran a successful side hustle but wanted to get teeth into something else. Wanted to spend any spare time I had doing stuff for me. Mostly I am a full- time worker, mother and wife, and do everything for the treasures in my life, but needed something for me.

I was tired of trying to find clothes online that weren’t made for ultra slim people (nothing wrong with ultra slim, but this is not me) plus I didn’t and couldn’t shop in a mask. So, decided to have a look around and started to find clothes that I loved, and after ordering some samples, I found they fitted, and looked lovely.

So next thought was, well why not give it a go and help others? I am a curvy girl who is a size 16, have been since I had children, but before that was sometimes a size 20. Being a curvy plus size can be hard, as so many places don’t cater for these sizes, and if they do there isn’t much choice. Anyway, I wanted to be able to source affordable, fashionable, comfortable clothes for all. I know the hang ups people can have and I want to be able to bring you clothes you will love.

I remember travelling in Australia at 19 years of age, and it was sooo hot, I had a t shirt on over my swimsuit as didn’t want to show my fat arms. In the end I was so hot, I just said, ‘no more’ and took off the t shirt, and I have never looked back. This is me, this Is the body I have and rather than worry about everything, I will embrace that it is mine, I am healthy (mostly) and happy with two gorgeous kids, and need to live my life, so I no longer worry, I wear what I like and dress for me.

So that doesn’t mean I won’t sell t-shirts, but it just means I understand. I will bring you shorts that cover fat knees (mine) but can be rolled to suit any beautiful knee. But will also bring you short shorts for those with beautiful knees. I bring vest tops but also tops that cover ‘those’ arms. I have jumpsuits that you can get yourself out of without doing a Houdini act. We all need to pee alone right? Can’t take bestie to loo all the time to do you back up! I have tops that cover bums, and tops not too low to show your jubblies. I will be bringing you stylish clothes for all, I am not leaving out the slimmies, I have clothes for you too. I want to help you all.

I also sell handbags, purses and jewellery, the whole shopping experience under one ‘roof’. I want to bring you shoes too, but finding the right ones is going to take a while.

I love shopping and love that I can source clothes for others, it makes me happy to see you happy. I also want to be able to offer you a personalised shopping experience, a 1-1. You let me know your hang ups, your likes and what clothes you wear, colours you like and I will do the shopping for you and show you items I can source for you. If you want something particular for a special occasion just let me know, I will see what I can find. I won’t be just another online shop; I want to give you an experience!

I have a dream of a having a garden room, our very own space to see the wonderful clothes, try on, sip bubbles from my built -in bar, have a giggle. Will be great for being able to offer parties and get togethers, why not all come along, get your bestie’s opinion as you try on? This is still a dream but one day will be a reality, to have a showroom would be amazing!
